I do it, I don't understand the logic behind it all but when I got my first pack my mate told me to flip one and name it the 'lucky one' and I've just sort have kept doing it. The only thing I have noticed (much to my annoyance) is that the tobacco falls out over time and you end up with a shorter cigarette!

hey folks ..iam new to this arena..thought i mite share some light on this... the reason one keeps a cigi upside down is the cigi has a prefect blend of tobacco.. if you peel one inner flap of the pack u will be able to see a no.. and if u count the cigi's from order you will be able to figure on the cigar and then turn it down to save the best for last....

Actully why this is done, is back in the World war 2 era wile the soldiers where away on duty they would have a pack of smokes with them. When they opened their pack of smokes they would flip one up side down. It was known as a "lucky smoke," because if they made it to smoke that one, they were lucky. It was a refectory moment, to look back on the past and to feel relief that they were still alive. Now a days thought this is where it was originated from it's lost its meaning like it did, most reason people flip their smoke is more of ritual, and its the "forbidden" smoke an idolized article that only the owner of the pack may smoke.

I sumtimes do this because Im a spliff smoker (large joint of marijuana mixed with tobak) and i use half a cig in my spliffs, so i will snap a smoke use the baccy in the joint and then stash the other half bacy side up to use again to roll another spliff. Anyone else here smoke spliff's?
