Default Higher Cigarette Taxes

Anybody else sick and tired of being treated like social pariah for being a smoker? You'd think i was smoking crack or something illegal...i'm not fat, some people are, are they going to start overly taxing them b/c of the increased burden they place on the healthcare system? Then we'll sue McDonalds and all the fast food joints for selling fattening food...then the government is going to tell me what i can watch, wear, drink, eat, and all this, right after they decimated my retirement savings b/c their crooked campaigns accepted contributions from the hucksters on wall street...anyone else feeling particularly screwed this holiday season?

if tobacco ever does become illegal, you might see the fast food getting heavily taxed then. Illegal tobacco means politicians would have to find a NEW group of people to heavily tax so they can get their tax moolah.

But it's without a doubt that smokers are the African-Americans of the 21st century. I even read about a pregnant smoker who got shot to death by an anti outside.

Shooting people for smoking? That's insane, I live in an anti-smoking part of the country but I've never seen stuff get worse than someone saying something or doing that coughing bit.

Cool You want to see tobacco...

You want to see tobacco violence? Do like I do. I am kind of a troublemaker in my anti-smoking part of the country, so before you follow what I am about to tell you, you better have back-up on standby or you can fight your own battles. Consult a lawyer first if you are so inclined. However, Just light up in a place where you know it is not accepted and when someone tells you to put it out, you ignore them completely and go right on smoking, maybe blow smoke in their direction if you want to antagonize them or just exhale while ignoring them and see what happens. They either back down, say someting in-audible or approach or speak to you again. If they re-affirm their position, you continue to ignore them and if violence erupts, you fight the good fight. Win or lose, you get your cake (right to smoke) and eat it too (kick an anti's butt).

Losing is not an option for me. People are hurt because the convenience store lobby is "irritated" with the online advantage and mis-guided Anti groups like tobaccofreekids spread lies to elected officials and get them to have smoking "bans". I don't back down if somebody tells me to put out my cig and as a result of this behaviour, I can smoke everywhere I choose to smoke period. I haven't had anyone whip up on me over smoking and win the argument yet. Some people ARE getting killed over smoking incidents around the world though and I DO select place to smoke where it IS not accepted quite a bit. A lot of these places I choose allow me to smoke while having no smoking signs in full view. I guess the state can't afford smoke police yet huh? Google smokers rights forums and read stories about fights and deaths from same regarding smoking...

I've always wanted to pull a Bill Hicks on someone but I don't usually get bugged when I'm walking down the street or hanging with friends. Either that "I know you entertain this eternal life fantasy because you've chosen not to smoke, let me be the first to pop that bubble. You're going to die too, have a good day." bit or "You're lucky you don't smoke, that's a hell of a cough you got there. I smoke all day and don't cough like that."

RIP Bill

Yeah, I live in a state, Ohio to be exact, where smoking is like banned in all bars and restaraunts. There's this one bar that's like right by my house and everyone there always lights up and smokes right inside the bar, and whenever like we see a cop coming in, everybody just puts their cigs out and acts like nothing happened. The owner of that bar is the coolest person ever, she doesn't even give a shit if they do anything about her having smokers in the bar.

I hope that chick who runs the bar has some darn good ventilation. I bet even with cigs being put out, a dumb smoke cop still tries sniffing for cig smoke.

But it's cool to hear of one Ohio bar where folks can still smoke at. I understand if you wanna keep the bar's name a secret. No tellin how many Fked up antis (and authorities) are lurking on this forum.

There is a lot of bars all over this country that folks can still smoke at. Smokers are fighting back on all the bans. Some are setting new precedents and some are paying fines, going to jail and even getting killed over a cigarette. If the Natives have any kind of uprising over tobacco, I know who I'm supporting and it won't be no state employee from NYS.

By the way, I'm in FL and Fsc's are required here by May or June of this year. I hope to have me a case of Native brand lights and maybe some Texas Republic lights and menthols to get me thru the FSC crisis. I'll have to make sure I write some "snail mails' for charlie crist, bill nelson and mel martinez complaining about the new "Poison" called FSC. I'll keep you posted....
